Sunrise Engagement Shoot at Loveland Pass
Kat & Tanner
I love when I have an excuse to rise with the sun in the Rocky Mountains. Sunrise creates a certain magic up there. For almost an hour straight you’ll see blues, pinks, yellows, and oranges as the sun comes up and casts light over the mountaintops. At any time of year it provides a stunning scenery. Loveland Pass is a great location if you don’t want an intense hike that takes hours to reach the top. There are two sides to hike up and check out for 360 views of the mountains all around, and a lake a little further down the road there is an alpine lake. Kat & Tanner were visiting Colorado so they decided to do a mountain shoot with me for their engagement photos. We were in constant awe of the beauty all around us as we wandered around the pass. As usual I shot some film along with digital to create some timeless images in black and white. One tip is to always make sure you bring some warm clothes as it is always pretty cold before the sun comes up, even in the spring/summer months.
